Peter, the painter, personifies man's longing for happiness. He would like to meet the ideal woman, the perfect companion in life. The theater actress Maruša, with whom Peter has been going steadily for seven years, wants to live with him and share everything with him. However, Peter has grown a little sick of Maruša. During the night Maruša feels that Peter has deserted her, she also decides that for her the end of their relationship is the best solution. But at the end both of them realize their loss. The difference between their illusions and the real life is too big. Meanwhile in the street a couple of young lovers are dancing in the rain. Perhaps they are going to attain the happiness …
