Gre za črno komedijo, postavljeno v odmaknjen istrski zaselek, kjer tartufi – bogastvo podzemnega sveta – zameglijo um vaščanov. Ko mojster lova na tartufe ujame največji primerek vseh časov, izbruhne mrzlica pohlepa. To je zgodba o obsedenosti in o dveh mladih, ki se imata rada, ter o vseh drugih, ki se nimajo niti malo.
Igor Šterk is a celebrated Slovenian filmmaker whose work has screened and won awards at major international festivals, from Montpellier and Trieste to Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary and Venice. From Express to 9:06 and Lunatic, his films have established him as a distinctive, internationally recognised directing voice.
Zgodba je sicer postavljena v Istro, vendar jo razumem kot alegorijo – tartufi so lahko karkoli: moč, denar, vpliv. Skozi prizmo komedije raziskujemo, kaj se zgodi, ko posameznik pride do nečesa izjemnega, in kako se na to odzove skupnost.
