After a violent encounter during a political vote in Spain, Marta’s image went viral—changing her life forever. REBEL is an intimate documentary about trauma, public scrutiny, and the fight for justice in the digital age. As Marta rebuilds her life, the film explores the personal cost of political violence and reflects on sisterhood, care, and resilience from a distinctly female perspective.

In REBEL, the audience will find a very contemporary struggle of a woman in the process of active resistance against the state and the media, powerful forces related to a patriarchal society. I want to explore how today’s fake news, repeated in the media, can destroy an ordinary person’s life. I want to understand and confront the audience with media harassment and its real consequences.
