Aleš, Žiga and Sašo are friends from childhood. The first is a former champion in motoring. Now he has a tire repair workshop, above which he lives with his younger partner, Urša. Žiga is guilty of a serious traffic accident and, even though he is a doctor, he tries to cover it up. Young parents die in an accident, leaving behind a baby. Žiga turns to Aleš for help. The latter is in a dilemma whether to help his friend or to go to the police where Sašo works, and report him. Aleš lost his parents very early, so he is more and more inclined to report Žiga. However, he hesitates, because Žiga once saved his Urša's life as a doctor. The film's title is taken from the 1905 bronze statue of the …
Born in 1967. Arguably the most versatile Slovenian filmmaker of his generation, known for his flair for directing actors. His awarded and critically acclaimed feature and short films are among the most noteworthy achievements of the contemporary Slovenian cinema. Many now established younger filmmakers first ventured into the world of film at his master classes, and he later served as producer, co-writer, or editor of some of their early feature films.
A funny anecdote from the childhood of our family tire repairman Aleš Bužga was the trigger for the film's content. I wrote the script together with my older son Domen, and in the end I put our tire repairman in front of the camera to play the main role. For the first time in my professional career, I decided to occasionally use zoom while framing, something I had always avoided in previous films.
